About Acadian Home Builders Association.
Acadian Home Builders Association (AHBA) is a 501(c)(6) non-profit trade organization founded in 1960 by a group of visionary builders who saw the need to form an organization dedicated to advancing the home building industry in Lafayette and the surrounding areas. Over the years, AHBA has grown to become an influential association in Acadiana representing over 800 members in five parishes: Lafayette, Acadia, St. Landry, St. Martin, & Vermillion.
AHBA strives to make Acadiana a better place to live through collaboration, political action, education and philanthropy. The organization includes home builders as well as associate members whose industries support building such as real estate companies, mortgage lenders, and various subcontractors.

The Voice of the Housing Industry
One of the functions of the Acadian Home Builders Association is to be the voice of its members when it comes to important legislative issues. AHBA monitors the interests of the homebuilding industry by supporting pro-housing legislation on the local, state, and national level. The association serves as a political watch dog and advocate for both consumers and home builders.
